Oil seepage

Hoping for a little insight as to possible causes for the oil shown in these pictures. The dealership I work for (non mini unfortunately) sold me the car 2 months ago and I still have a little of their warranty left.

Perhaps a few others on here have an idea as to what the issue is.

side note: I'm take terrible photos, sorry about that

As always thank you

Best thing to do is clean it all up REALLY good, then keep an eye on it to find the leaking point.

Going to have it cleaned up and put back on the lift, crossing my fingers for something easy

Could be as simple as some spilled oil from replacing the oil filter. Could also be leaking gaskets from the oil cooler. Do as mentioned and clean the area.

This is excellent advice.

I'm glad you cau-ght this before your warranty expired. The possibilities that I can think of -

1. Spillage from replacing oil filter - as mentioned above
2. Valve cover gasket
3. Vacuum pump O ring
4. Oil filter housing seals
5. Oil cooler seals
6. Turbo oil line (not likely)
7. Oil pan gasket (not likely based on the pictures)

Do some searches and you'll find lots of information. The oil filter housing and oil cooler seals seem like the most common leaks.

Best of luck, and keep us posted. Pictures are always appreciated!

I cleaned the underside and will put oil dye in to figure this out

I would guarantee that that leak is the oil filter housing to block seal. We see that leak all the time at the bottom of the housing. This kit will take car of everything you need to fix in that area ever. http://www.detroittuned.com/dt-turbo...ine-super-kit/
