R53 Stalling upon first start up

03 mini cooper s 85k
This disease came back again.. i don't know what exactly the problem is..
Am i only one who suffer this?
Fuel filter replaced few month ago.
Is it because of fuel pump..?
I live in Socal and it was only under 70 degree in the morning.

I don't know if this is a 'solution', but try this:
Turn the ignition just on & wait a moment - you'll hear the fuel pump prime the system.
Start the car.
Does it stay running OK?

My '03 S has done this off and on for years. At times it will go for many months without the first start issue. I wonder if it has anything to do with gas formulation summer/winter. One thing I have noticed is that a start up the morning following a drive at interstate speeds usually has no issues. I'd be interested in others' experiences.

There is a DME update available that should fix this issue, you need to either find a local Euro shop who can update the DME or you are going to pay the dealer an arm and a leg to do so.

I am having similar issue. What DME update? Would be worth it if it fixed it but I don't expect it would. Long starts randomly, almost always. It didn't when it was really cold like 40F outside. I think its a sensor issue i tested fuel pressure etc all good.
