Preparing to replace the clutch on my R53, what else to do while it's apart?

I have the Valeo clutch kit, rear main seal, transmission input seal and throwout bushings. Is there anything else, even outside of the transmission that should be taken care of while I have access? How about the transmission mount? I've replaced the other two engine mounts but this one seems to be rarely mentioned.

I'm at just under 100k miles. The starter & slave cylinder both seem to be fine. Anything else I should check?

I would recommend an inspection and replace anything that appears to showing age.

A good time to do a good cleaning as well...

Best of luck.

Motor On!

I'd say go for a LSD. I made the mistake of not doing that and have regretted it ever since.

Install a Quaife LSD

I probably won't be able to throw an extra grand at the project for a Quaife haha

Check the guide tube also and or replace it. Mine was grooved pretty bad and the throw out bearing was getting a little hung up on it.

And if you can do it go for an LSD. The bearings are listed at the bottom of the link. ES277056.

I just did mine. I also replaced the Crank Position seal, Control arm bushings, power steering return lines, sway bar bushings, throw out bearing shaft bushings, belt, belt tensioner, idler, oil cooler o'rings, rear main seal Plus a bunch of little things.

The whole car is pretty much disassembled. Might as well have a good look and replace everything while it is easy to get to.

You should think about replacing the clutch hydraulic system, as at some point it will fail.

Good call on the power steering lines, I will take care of those while everything's apart. I'll take care of the guide tube as well. Thanks for the suggestions!
