Tire size swap

Long time, no post... but looking for some advice from the top boffins here on NAM. My old beastie (2003 Cooper) needs new shoes. Pirelli no longer makes the 175 width (at least I found nothing from my digging) or the model I'm replacing. So, has anyone swapped up from a 175/65R15 to a 185/65R15 on a similar Mini model? It looks like I *might* have enough wheel well/clearance but I'm not going to wing it. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks much!

In theory, you’re only losing 1/4” worth of clearance around the tire circumference, and minimal clearance loss on the width of the tire. That being said, mathematically, you’re still smaller than the Cooper S tires, which run 205/45-17.

I don’t think I would hesitate to make that size change.

This site is a great reference for wheel and tire changes:

Thanks Nik! I thought I'd be safe with the change but needed the outside opinion. And thanks for the reference link, I'll definitely check it out. Cheers and happy motoring!
