Purchased new from Global Imports BMW/Mini in February 2004, 1-owner vehicle. Majority of miles are highway and this mildly modified Mini was extremely trouble-free during my ownership. I recently completed a full rebuild of the suspension, sub-frame and partial engine. Virtually every problem area of these models has been serviced including Supercharger Oil w/ new water pump, Control Arm bushings and every oil seal on the motor/power steering. This car is leak-free and has a new suspension/tires/brakes with under 3k miles on the rebuild. Every wear item in the suspension is new, tie-rods, ball joints, shocks and springs, all new fluids, new pads/fluids/rebuilt JCW Calipers. Mechanically excellent, interior is in great shape for its age including the new R56 Lounge leather seats which the car should have come with stock, they look phenomenal. Oil was changed at 3-5k intervals, rest of the fluids were changed per maintenance spec. Only 93 octane gas was ever used. Just replaced the windshield, battery and o2 sensors as well. The car still drives great, sharp handling, responsive steering, quick acceleration in fact, it's better than stock and just like a go-kart.


Problem areas: Paint, front end has typical highway chips and rear spoiler and trunk trim have chipping clearcoat. Clutch is original. It has a new serpentine belt that squeaks a bit while warming up. It's burning a bit of oil, about a quart every oil change.
