I do recommend that you do a carbon clean so that you are keeping clean valves clean because these caps will stop your build up at whatever point your valves were at when installed.

Hello Miniman,

I wanted to thank you again for the purchase of the caps but regrettably had to remove mine. As I messaged you at an earlier point in time, my car was idling very oddly with both caps installed and produced a sound some would consider akin to a knock. There was also an abnormal and abundant amount of "milky" substance building underneath the oil cap after installation. When having placed the rear pcv hose back to stock, the idle returned to normal and the milky substance subsided.

Could this be indicative of issues with my vehicle specifically?

I've read of great results with these caps and haven't found anyone else who has experienced similar issues, so please don't let this prevent you from picking up a set for those potentially interested.

I'd still like to prevent carbon build up and was planning to pay for a media blast cleaning, but I need to find a solution to this issue first. Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

My car is an early build 2007 r56. I do not have the updated valve cover installed.

The milky substance is moisture and is this a seperate noise from your earlier post? Again the caps with an air intake will allow you to hear the full load breather valve opening and closing. You do have a direct injection motor and it will sound similar to a diesel. I would do a carbon clean and put the caps on you may just be really close to throwing lights due to carbon.

It was the same noise. I will further look into the issue and see what options I have available after a proper carbon cleaning.

Would this work inconjunction with a BSH Catch Can. I have the boost port to close the valve, but I think it's leaking and effecting my boost PSI.

Anyone knowlegdgeable here??

This does work with the oil catch can but I'm assuming by your post you also have the boost tap. So what we do is modify the cap with some hose to test for boost loss.

I want to replace the boost tap which is acting like a block with this. I think my boost port block is leaking leading to loss of boost

You get 2 caps one for the port you described and one for the port at the other end of the PCV hose.

I imagine I would only need to use the one plug...it just connects to the stock tubing right..

It actually completely gets rid of that hose. So you completely remove the PCV hose and use one plug at each end that the hose would plug in at. If you look at the first link I posted it shows that one plug goes on the intake manifold and one attaches to valve cover.

Carey P installed both and posted earlier on this thread you may be able to ask them for a picture. The two parts don't interfere with each other as the plug into different ports.

Got these and installed them today. I think my bsh boost tap was leaking cause I'm hitting 1-3 psi more of boost. I'll exchange feedback once I'm on the pc. Thanks.

the 2007's don't have the check valve on the valve cover. i don't believe.

With tax returns coming in prevention is the best maintenance do a carbon clean and by a set to stop the problem.
