Smoked clutch affects boost gauge?

Hey guys, just a quick question. Would my stock boost gauge be affected in any way if I smoked my clutch? The reason why I ask is because a few days ago I accidentally smoked my clutch while I was on a uphill stopped in traffic. I gave it a little too much gas and didn't release the clutch enough so after a while of this continuous activity, I saw smoke coming out of my hood and that burnt smell.

Well, after two days have passed since that incident, and every time when I gun it, that burnt clutch smell comes back. Is the smell suppose to keep coming back? Also, now I notice that when I gun it and almost redline, my stock boost gauge goes all the way up to almost 60psi!!!! I have a 15% Alta S/C pulley.

I already booked an appointment with the dealer to have my car looked at, but I would like to get some advice/heads up before heading in. Thanks for the help guys.

I did a similar thing. Got this really bad burning smell that keeps coming back. Also, I now hear a slight metallic grind when getting into 1st gear...not all the time just when I slowly shift out.

I am interested to hear your experience at the dealership. My MINI is at the dealership too. However, they just told me that they don't know what the problems is and where the smoke is coming from, and in order for them to find out they will need to drop the transmission. So, they need my authorization to do so...but if they find any "misuse" or "abuse" from the clutch of flywheel - they will not cover anything under warranty and I will have to pay for the labor to drop the transmission - which will cost $2500. I have never tracked or autox-ed my MINI and I have been driving stick from the get-go. I just don't know what MINI's criteria is for "abuse" or "misuse".

Hope you had good results.
