I've been itching to get back into a manual for a while now (my first R53 was a manual), but for multiple reasons I held off until just recently. I made the jump over to a 2006 JCW manual, so it is time for me to part with Ol' Blue. Wife won't let me keep both.
The Good
- 2005 Cooper S automatic
- Chronopack, Harmon Karden stereo (with GROM bluetooth add-on)
- auto AC
- panoramic sunroof
- Xenon headlights
- clean body with one dent on back bumper
- 15% supercharger pulley upgrade
- RMW Dominator camshaft upgrade
- RMW Shorty header
- 450cc fuel injectors
- Screamin Deamon coil pack / NGK Irridum IX Colder plugs
- K&N drop-in air filter (no CAI - car was mainly driven in California)
- Milltek exhaust
- Wilwood Big Brake kit (front brakes)
- belt tensioner and crankshaft pulley recently replaced
- new OEM rear brakes and rotors
The Bad
- Transmission is starting to slip/harsh shift and needs a valve body replacement. This has been done once before at 122,890 (Revmax valve body). UPDATE: Vehicle is now showing EP indicator (as of 139,673 miles), so yes, the valve body issue needs to be addressed.
- Automatic gear shift selector is not functioning and needs to be replaced. Car drives fine in regular automatic, but does not shift properly in sport/manual mode. (See note re: EP mode)
- Engine mount worn and needs to be replaced.
- Headliner sagging
Also comes with
- Schroth 4-point harnesses, blue (driver and passenger)
- original header
- original exhaust
- original cam
Car is currently just under 140,000 miles (139,683), and I bought it at 110,000 miles. Clean Carfax. Car has spent most of its life in California, and it is currently in Las Vegas. It was not a daily driver for myself or the previous owner.
This is an ideal car for those with more mechanical ability than myself (which is probably most people). I really do hate to part with it, so I hope it can be picked up by someone who will enjoy it as much as I did.
NO LONGER AVAILABLE
Alright. I've officially listed it for sale, and made the wife a little happier. "Sorry, honey, there's no interest in it. Must be the mileage or something." That's why it was overpriced.
Now I can turn it into a donor car in order to clean up the '06 JCW I got last month. :D
