Rad!! Good on you for starting and just getting it done. Did you take any photos of the transmission internals? It would be really interesting to see what shot bearings look like.
I did! I actually have a thread going somewhere where I started a teardown. I haven't updated it because I got swamped with the start of the semester, 3 failed computers and then I could not source the spring pins for the shifter fingers.
Anyways, I did this during the Eagles victory. New shift and e-brake boot made of grey suede, with dark red stitching. Currently working on wiring in an amp and doing an overhaul of the interior. Tomorrow I will pick up some spray adhesive and wrap the radio pillars, just like the JCW treatment.
It rained today/yesterday here in Arizona, so I guess it gave me the drive to finally drag my camera out after about 6 months of not using it!
Going to call Sherwin Williams tomorrow to try and get some paint to match so I can FINALLY finish my bumper. If anyone sees this and wants to bulk buy, let me know!
Finally decided what the end goal is to look like! I couldn't quite get the bronze color just right, but think about the bronze Ray's that are run on so many cars. Probably going to order a lift setup here in a few days, then when I do I am going to measure the struts to get something will full travel, rather than blocks.
Unfortunately, I was in an accident with the Mini. A box truck merged into me and smashed all three pillars, all passenger side windows and the rear quarter, not to mention there is probably frame tweak-age because the glove box no longer closes. I have yet to get a final quote but my guess is that it is totaled.
