Plastic headlights

I was looking at the one headlight on my 08 convertible and the plastic is ground down in a very weird way, almost looks like it was a mistake from the factory. Has anyone else noticed this?

Mine doesn't look like that. That's funky. Maybe a good excuse ($$$ permitting), to upgrade?

That is strange, should be pretty smooth/flush:

If you aren't getting any condensation insight the headlight I'd leave it be. If it concerns you, you can always buy a new one.

Looks like it was cracked and then repaired (poorly).
