Radio Antenna Wiring

My radio in the Cooper S doesn't pick up a single station. When I looked in the kick panel fuse box I found what looks like a loose radio antenna wire.

Can anyone tell me what this wire is for and where it should go?

I'm aware there is also a box on the rear ceiling that is supposed to select the best antenna and can go pop. If this wire I found is meant to go to the radio though, I'll start there!

Whazzat for?

Today I removed the plastic kick panel and I found the other half of this connector!

As I had hoped, this is indeed the radio antenna lead. One end comes from the back of the car and the other end goes to the radio. For some reason it was disconnected. I reconnected it and I've got radio

Good find. I didn't know it went from the radio through the floor to another connection under the carpet.
