Studs can be used a couple times. If they are the normal head bolts buy new ones.

I would definitely use new head bolts. ARP and you can't go wrong.
Get your head fixed, new valves and a 3 angle valve job. New bigger injectors with a tune and you will have some fun.

Lots of open threads on alternate injectors...
VW and Volvo sometimes work...
"Look" cans be deceiving.... Electricaly different, as are spray patterns

Two things. First, that gunk in the cooling jackets on that head looks hideous, make sure your cooling system isn't filled with that. Secondly, make sure your cat didn't get fried having all that fuel spray on it. Oil clogs a cat, fuel melts them into a glob.

Holy Cow! This makes me pucker

Sorry to hear about your mini dude. I'm new around here and am glad I ended up stumbling into this thread.

I just bought a completely stock r53 with 156k miles on it and am making plans to do some mods very similar to yours. This has scared me into 550cc injectors without a doubt.

I'm subscribing to the thread so keep us updated on how the repair is going.

God speed.

Update: after a couple of weeks and making a few mistakes. I finally got the car completely assembled and on first start up the car ran for less than a minute and shut off throwing the check engine light. The code was for throttle position sensor A and throttle position sensor B for low voltage did some investigating it turn out to be the plug cam unplugged. I restarted it and it stuttered a bit but calm down to normal idle. i drove it for about 15 to 20 min and as i was pulling back in the check engine light came on for throttle position sensor B low voltage. Can any body point me in the right direction for the problem ? But the car did run fine never had a problem.
