so dumped the RF then drove 900 miles to Great Falls Mt trip up to Glacier and back to Co. Lets see ran into 50+ mile an hr winds in Wy ripped the BJ sunroof pulled off headlight trim on rt side. but the tires are great much better than the RF. Off to dealer to see when I can get everything fixed.
New Black Knight owner here! Just purchased a 2014 MINI Countryman S Black Knight edition from a dealer this morning, and could not be happier! I'd love to get feedback, tips, advice, and how-to's on keeping up this Frozen Black matte paint. Need to start getting some products ASAP, so any help would be much appreciated
So happy to see some other Black Knights!! Still loving mine. I just hit the cheapest touch-free car wash during the winters here in MN to keep the grime off and it cleans up great. Love the look and finish.
On a side note, the stock Goodyear tires are the worst set of tires I have ever owned; no traction, terrible ride and one already had sidewall failure. It is time to put something else on the car.

Thanks for the feedback on your care, and I absolutely love the look too!
Also, good to know about Goodyear. Mine has Pirelli run flats.
I'm curious if body shops can match this type of paint as easy as traditional finishes? I'm guessing as this becomes more common, the body shops will become more adept.
I've had the Black Knight now for 1 year. Still love everything about this car. The finish has been super easy to care for and is holding up great. Finally got some new non-RF tires and it is soooo much better. No other mods at this point.
Any others out there have one of these and enjoying it?
My Black Knight - just a touch different.... 4 sale too ;-)
so I saw this forum and I thought it might give me the opportunity to try and find a buyer for the car. it has only 10200 miles on it and gets started regularly. it is sitting in a garage next to a 70 Malibu. I'm sitting in Korea not being able to drive it so I figured id try to sell it for what I owe and someone else can enjoy the car... anyway here are some pics. I will post this in the for sale section soon so if I'm in violation of the forum let me know....
Hey, not sure if anyone is still posting around here but I'm a new Black Knight owner and stoked to be one. I picked mine up around 45k miles.
I'll get some better pics up soon, but here's the one I have for now.
Congrats and welcome! I've had mine for about 3 years now and I still love it. I find it easier to maintain than regular paint since I don't have to wax it. Only thing I've noticed is small chips around the grill from stuff coming up off the road and hitting it.
The old owner had a few different rides it seems, and was able to take pretty good care of this one. There are a few small scratches and chips along the grill as well as what looks like a bitty mark (where it looks as if someone tried to give a small scratch on the finish a buff :/ ) but out of everything mentioned, you wouldn't notice a single one if you didn't study it. Over all, I feel pretty lucky and was getting compliments on it the day I drove it home.
Was there a consensus on what the best wash to use was? any reccs from owners out there?

Yeah, you can’t see the marks on mine either unless you’re looking for them. I use Chemical Guys matte products on my car and they’re great. They’ve got a car wash and a spray bottle that makes it super easy to get bugs off. I got an attachment for my pressure washer and wash my car that way. They say you’re not supposed to use sponges or anything on it, so I basically do a touch less wash. Haven’t had any issues yet.
Havent posted mine yet. I bought a Black Knight edition R60 almost 2 years ago now. Haven't done much cosmetically other than coilovers. I've added a rear sway bar, front strut bar, intake, intercooler, catless DP and Fi exhaust. Got a RPM tune by Mario.
