Boot latch rubber cover

The protective rubber that covers the boot latch handle committed suicide. It deteriorated from the Florida heat. Is that a hassle to replace or let the dealer take care of it. Thank you. Frank

I think the only way is to replace the trunk handle assembly. It's just a few Tork screws and a plug.

My plan for now...use a piece of inter tube or durable vinyl to replace rubber cover. Use windshield sealant (that I hate to work with) or aggressive silicon for adhesion.

Might hold up for now. Let me know if it holds up. You dont want any water getting in there over time as it will ruin the micro switch.
