What did you do about TPMS? Alex @ Tire Rack is telling me the Civic wheels may not be TPMS compatible.

Thanks,

DOC

The 2010's TPM sensors are part of the valve stem...... Pretty standard regardless of wheel......

I replied to your PM, Doc - - but for everyone else's amusement, I copy the content of my reply here:

What's up Doc?

(sorry, had to do it...)

Well I can't help you with the TPMS sensors. Here in Canada, the tire pressure warning system doesn't use them. We have the older and, from what I read, less precise system that uses the ABS computer and sensors to sense different rotation speeds of the wheels while in motion. If one wheel is turning slightly slower - the computer assumes a low pressure in that tire and triggers the warning light. It works - I've had the light go off and sure enough, a slow leak in the tire had caused it to lose some air.

This suits my usage here in Canada perfectly, as I can change wheels and tires seasonally and not worry about TPMS sensors in the wheels - I just reset the TPMS light after switching from winter to summer wheels/tires and then again when I switch back.

I'm not sure what others do - I know some people just ignore the warning light during the winter. Not the best solution, I know...

Not sure if you ever found your 16" wheels, but just had some posted on our local club's forum... http://tarheelminis.org/showthread.p...ale-%28-199%29
