Just clicked over 62,000 miles on my 2012 MCS, no unexpected repairs since the HPFP replacement under warranty at 49k miles.
Front brake pads will be replaced (again) in a couple of weeks, I'm getting about 30k per set. Will try Akebono this time, I used them on the rears when I replaced at 47k miles.
Just a lot of happy motoring lately! I added some driving lights in 2014...these are Hellas, and work very weill to augment the HIDs.
Haven't been here in ages. Black Ice is pushing 38K and running stronger than even. Recently added a pair of orange Euro RockyMounts for hauling the bikes.
Anyone know if they are going to put the BMW 2.0L Turbo into the JCW Countryman in 2016? Family car got totaled recently (no injuries) and I might be ready for another Mini or an upgrade! Gotta have the 2.0L in that big four door for me to pull the trigger...
What can I do to replicate the toughness of this look on the convertible? The racing stripe and black mirror caps are easily doable, but what about darkening the lights? red-seat covers would be tight too..the roadster's windshield looks more angled which gives a more aggressive look...would be nice to compensate somehow with a subtle something extra...any ideas? Thanks!

For mine I blacked out the rims. Tinted the windows and am going to black out the chrome. I'm also getting after market headlight with them being black inside. I may smoke out the tail lights as well provided I can find a way to pass inspection. I'm also thinking of vynl wrapping the a panels with carbon fiber. Or maybe just black. Honestly though I'm building towards stage 2 tune from manic. Once I did the rims and Windows with white roof and mirrors I really like the contrast of my car. The color is growing on me being a guy I was worried the car would seem girly but I don't think so anymore. I think I'll black out all the chrome to add contrast. Also adding a black notch style hood scoop.
What do you guys think about Mini releasing a limited edition of the 2 door and the S in Ice Blue for 2017? Been pining for an ice blue and was hoping they'd bring the color back but you don't have a lot of options. I'd prefer an all ice blue -- no two-tone or stripes -- and I'd never use a sunroof. Here's the info from Mini for anyone who hasn't seen it: http://www.miniusa.com/content/miniu.../ice-blue.html
Really do not like the orange stripe and mirror caps on the S.
I had to do a lot of searching and in doing so found in my area (Portland,OR) There has been less than a hand full of the Ice Blue for sale. I found 1 first gen, no bonnet stripes, 1 first gen with white bonnet and top, and 1 second gen black bonnet and top (my girl). I nearly settled on the Oxygen Blue but did not want the pano top. Anyhow in a week now I have seen 1 first gen convertiable and 1 of the 2018 JWC. All three of us took.us the freeway (all three lanes) side by side at one point. I honestly cannot.stand the Orange trim, hence not purchasing the 2018. I fell in love with the Ice Blue as it is "rare" for my area. We have an astonishing number of the Red, Blue and White (even pepper) in this area.

Congrats...enjoy on the best of health!
My daughter's "Baby" ice blue is used once in a while up in the PDX area...great color to keep clean...wish that she was as diligent with that chore as when I was able to give it some love south of y'all (and add some miles to the ODO while I was at it!)
