All Aboard the Tortugas **Who's MINI is on it??**

I found out today my JCW is on the TORTUGAS....lets keep this thread going to help pass the time.

The ship is due in Georgia on October 28th..my stop. But there are 2 other stops before that. One in Canada and the other in New York.

This site seems to not work from time to time so you may have to check back.

When did you order it? Were you able to track it?

batty_bruce Oct 17, 2008 07:29 PM

my JCW's on board and headed for the NJ VDC.

it seems the captain of the Tortugas doesnt seem to like to use the AIS in the open water...perhaps he knows we are watching him.

The ship hits Halifax on the 21st, so maybe i can spot it there.

My MCC is aboard the Turtles

Hi
My MCC will arrive to Brunswick, GA on the 28.:)

Relax... it's only ten more days!

We should be able to express gratitude on Thanksgiving Day for one more thing... our MINI.

RedC40 Oct 18, 2008 04:19 AM

Also onboard the Tortugas disembarking in NYC for the NJ VDC. My MA is holding out hold that I'll take delivery of my Mini by Halloween!

One of my friends keeps reminding me of the fate that befell a certain ship that also sailed from Southampton in 1912. I tell him that if the Tortugas hits an iceberg and goes down I'll sing "My Heart Must Go On" until a replacement Mini arrives. Since that probably wouldn't be until 2009 I remind him he might want to wish the Tortugas a safe journey............

Just checked the Mini site to see the progress of my build. Build is complete and awaiting transport! Does anyone know how long the wait is between ships departures?

I feel much better knowing its on the way and I can see the progress. The miniusa.com web site does not reflect the true progress....mine still says it is awaiting shipment. Nice to see I have company:nod:

Yes...it has been a long month...but I think I am lucky sine it looks like I will be around 5 weeks since I placed the order. I have seen people here wait much longer than I am...or will be:lol:

Tortugas spotted in Halifax Port on http://ais3.siitech.net/VTSLite/AView.aspx

still scheduled to depart today, 10/22. Next stop New York Harbor and the NJ VDC!

btw... Tortugas is an appropiate name for one of these vessels. max speed is 18-19 knots which translates to 21-22mph to cross the ocean with... zoinks.

Red Bull Oct 22, 2008 06:51 AM

How Cool is that....I was able to find her....

superc00per Oct 22, 2008 06:58 AM

my VIN isn't working for the cargo tracking on their site. i'm speculating that it is on that ship as well. fingers crossed.

Red Bull Oct 22, 2008 07:15 AM

You can confirm it by calling Mini or your dealer.....good luck.
