Where's the 2008 configurator?

So according to MotoringFile, the 2008 configurator was supposed to be posted on Friday 11/16, but it's just after midnight now on 11/17 and I still don't see it.

Anyone know what's going on?

ScottRiqui Nov 16, 2007 11:31 PM

Well, the configurator on the UK MINI site has the coupe, the convertible, and the Clubman, so does that mean it's the 2008 configurator?

Did MotoringFile say that the *US* MINI configurator was going to be updated by the 16th?

Yep. See here. Still no sign of the new configurator yet.

Perhaps they have run into issues getting it finished and online? Miniusa told dealers it would be available by Friday. My guess is that it'll be online very soon.

Try a Preview of the Clubman Config Here ..

Try looking here for a taste: http://www.mini.co.uk/UK/html/model_...bman/home.html

At least you can configure a Clubman. Not sure if the US site will look the same for Clubman. Of course, no US prices, and I had some problems loading the MCS config.

Cheers!

...not until they 'flip the switch'

Dang !:sly:

russr Nov 18, 2007 01:31 PM

So are we talking Monday 11/19 that it'll be up then?

Aonach Nov 18, 2007 05:25 PM

Wow. $24,100 for the S. A bit more than I expected. Was hoping for $23,000 or so. Does anyone know what, if ANY, options or tidbits will be on the Clubman for that extra dough? Or, is that extra $3200 just for the extra 9 inches? I know the longer the better, but that seems like a lot for 9 inches!

All clubmans come with the DSC no matter what.....i suppose that's 500 dollars that was probably included in many non-clubman spec lists. Nothing added besides that and the longer boot AFAIK

Aonach Nov 18, 2007 07:12 PM

Mmmm. DSC is nice but that still seems like quite a markup on what is otherwise a MCS. I was really eyeing the Clubman recently. I'll have to pause and think now. Maybe another MCS then.

Aonach Nov 18, 2007 07:27 PM

Well I suppose my math was off a bit. $2250 as the Motoringfile article states. Not too bad but a $24000+ pre-optioned MINI is a new mark.

russr Nov 19, 2007 08:29 AM

Well it is next week and still no 2008 configurator. What gives?

ScottRiqui Nov 19, 2007 09:14 AM

Well, to paraphrase Curly from "City Slickers"--

"Week ain't over yet..."

Yucca Patrol Nov 19, 2007 07:03 PM

I'm definitely ready to start playing with it.

x2  Should be a lot of fun. Playing with the UK configurator is cool, but they have the crazy packages like Chili...the US one will be interesting to see.

On a related note....i know they've released the clubman to the public by having it at the LA autoshow. Do any of us non-claifornians have any hope for seeing a clubman in person any time soon?

russr Nov 19, 2007 08:44 PM

I really thought the configurator would be up by now. Maybe they're waiting till next week or worse till Dec?

Better not be December, I am supposed to put my order in the first couple of weeks. :)

russr Nov 20, 2007 09:22 AM

Let's hope it actually is this week.

minisugar Nov 20, 2007 09:27 AM

It will probably be released on turkey day when I'm too busy to actually play with it. :)

Futures10 Nov 20, 2007 10:24 AM

The US Configurator is up now...
