I feel sorry for this car it has been neglected by a butcher.

the regulator is gone and the rest of the cables that moves the window up/down.
I’m assuming the other side it has suffered the same consequences. The harness is hanging by the speaker behind the passenger seat.

when I was working on the engine there were missing two transmission bolts and some bolts belonging to the undercarriage were put somewhere else.
it was like a puzzle putting it together.

i bought it used but I knew what I was getting into since I did my homework with this mini’s but I’m so happy the way it rides that it’s worth it.
i don’t think the guy that worked in this car should called himself a mechanic! A butcher YES.
And for the records I’m a not a mechanic it just happens I like to take care my cars and learning throughout forums like this one and YouTube.

i managed to lowering the convertible but at one point it’s hitting the rollover bars and it doesn’t go completely down.

I almost remove the rear window but since I noticed lots of stuff missing I aborted the task I’m going to wait and put it on my wish list!

good evening

I haven’t opened the other side!
Mines it’s a 2006 R52 base!
it seem that I may need the motor/regulator and the cables that makes possible bringing up or down the rear left window.

does the rear window needs to be lowered before removing the entire thing out of the position?

im assuming I have the black metal plate that is holding the rear window and see at least two white plastic sprocket I tried to spin them to it if they move the window but nothing they are frozen can’t spin them, I stop foul around that aérea since I didn’t want to break the glass window.
what I notice it’s just bare window and some sprocket but not motor no wires that interconnect them.
what things should I need?

also I tried to find the sensor that tells the convertible that the rear windows are down I could not find it.

by reading your comments the trim needs to be remove but almost so fragile already that I may need to replace it,do I have a choice of any cheap alternative?

At this points stops hitting the rollover bars on the back seats
Rear windows stayed up while manually bringing down the top
Here you can see that the convertible is touching the rollover bars and it doesn’t go further down! I tried myself one person, would it make a difference two people and see if it would clear that area?

Window was held only by one fastener, the other one is MIA

Driver side quarter window as you can see the butcher has reached this area ! I’m assuming the passenger side same problem motor and other things are gone.

Do you guys think I could fix this with the kit plus the motor or I’m better off buying the whole assembly new? Idk what else it could be missing. I’m having thought of buying a used one but again I would run into a problem again! Since it’s used already.

I admire your perseverance. The condition of your car is a challenge.

Regarding the top not clearing the rollbars, removing the rollbar plastic trim will give you a bit of extra clearance: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/r...-fixed/EKKV60W
You could also try adjusting the top height: https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/r...le-top/EThzIfm

Yeah thanks since I was a teenager I liked the original coopers, I told myself those small engine I could work on them, last year I bought this one, as you can see it was neglected but with some TLC I would get it to my standards that’s a keeper and my collectivable car!
i did an overhaul on this engine I put some pics on my first gear forum.

thanks for your info !

Yes, most of the time when the MINIs were new in 2005 they were adjusted right after the purchase, MINI had a bunch of service bulletins, i had all mine done and the top did not get those wear marks.or issues.
