Hmm, might give this a try in the spring. Parts cost alone up here in Canada's capital is $660 (!)

I removed the chrome trim and put on black trim. The double sided tape that was on the chrome trim held quite good. I was able to remove what was left by rubbing my finger, working from the front to the back that results in the tape rolling up on itself. Without the rubber, dirt becomes somewhat trapped but for money invested in this method vs buying replacement parts, I will trade the time for the money saved.

That looks great! Can you share any part numbers or packaging so we can get the same exact stuff?

Thanks!

The first pictures with the chrome strips are Cowles # S37750 that is 1/2" wide. The second in black are the same trim that I painted black with a bumper type spray paint.

I continue to look for different trim. The Cowles T3402C and S33216 are black trims that on the Cowles site are said to be 5/8" and 1/2" respectively in width. When I pull these up on Amazon, they appear to be wider. Cowles T4002 is a black door edge trim that might work as well. I need to check out a Pepboys as they sell allot of Cowles products. These range from $10 to $20. It takes about 6'.

The T4002 appears to be a "L" shape and if around 5/8" to 3/4" wide could work. If the tape is on the bottom side of the long L portion, this trim would push up against the fabric top and look more like the original trim that rots out.

Nix the T4002, it is only 27" long, back to T3402C and S33216

Found it!

I know this is a resurrection and I apologize for that, but I wanted to post my experience search and finally finding the perfect replacement rubbers for my convertible. I tested about 30 different types and finally found an inexpensive one from Amazon that looks factory. I just pulled the molding off, took a razor to remove the original rubber, cleaned the pieces really well with soap and water and then bug and tar remover before just applying the rubber to the pieces. You can't tell its not factory. After a day or so in the sun, the points where it turns around the vehicle are less buckled and smooth.

This is what I got from Amazon.

Here's a couple new link because the current one doesn't contain the trim anymore:
https://www.amazon.com/Support-Window-Moulding-Weatherstrip-Vehicle/dp/B07BFT78N3/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=xusha+4m+13+ft+univer sal+z-shape+trim+car+door+rubber+seal&qid=1615563228&sr= 8-6
Amazon Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/Rubber-Protector-Guards-Weatherstrip-Window/dp/B07JB817R2/ref=sr_1_20?dchild=1&keywords=xusha+4m+13+ft+unive rsal+z-shape+trim+car+door+rubber+seal&qid=1615563598&sr= 8-20

If this link dies, search "xusha 4m 13 ft universal z-shape trim car door rubber seal" on amazon and another should appear.
