You folks with 06's... does your clock run fast too?
My '05 clock has run about 5 minutes per month fast.... i.e., I'll set my clock to exactly 6:00am on the way to work and by the end of the month it's closer to 6:05am when CBS news announces it's 6:00am.
Why? Love my MINI but I don't love the timekeeping ability. |
My wife's '05 MCS runs fast - seems to randomly gain 4-5 minutes every week or two (I drive the car once a week and seem to have to set the clock every time). My '06 has the chrono package and the clock has never needed to be reset (except for the spring and fall time changes).
I have an '06 MCS and I haven't noticed this problem. The only time I've had to change the time was when I disconnected the battery and then daylight savings time...
Now that you've mentioned it, I will keep a closer eye on it. But I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if it varied by 5 minutes a month... |
ive had my MCS since feb '06 and its never ran fast, like rhawth99 said, ive only had to reset the clock when theres been a time change:thumbsup:
Do you drive at 88 mph a lot? Or I guess that would make the clock run slow...
I have the same problem with my 05 as well
I'm always running late no matter what time of day, so I guess I wouldn't really notice if it was running fast or not.

Its actually caused by driving fast! As you get closer to the speed of light, 670,616,629.384 miles per hour, you start to enter a world where time stands still - hence the 5 minute gain per month. So try to keep it under 670,616,629.384 miles per hour and you should be ok.!

Our pair of 06 Coopers seem to keep very accurate time.
dolmangar - good one..... 88MPH it is, then, Marty....
They don't replace the clock, they replace the whole center unit but it works like a treat in terms of keeping good time.
I think the TSB said something about incorrect crystal's in the construction. |
My 06 is keeping good time.
Call your dealer, it is a known problem. I had mine replaced several months ago and it has kept time since. It should be done under warranty.
it likes you so much it cant wait for to drive it in the morning, so it sets its clock fast hopeing you will come out sooner

We didn't have this problem in our '05, and haven't noticed it in our '06 |
'06 here and no problems either. :)
my wife's late 05 MCSa had this - dealer replaced the clock. My 06 MCS works fine.
Have had my '06 MCS a month and no problems so far.
My 06 ran fast one time when I first took delivery...I reset it then about a month later it ran fast for a week and has not done it since. Its been right on time for the past few months.
I thought it was a feature. I'm never late.
As far as I know mine is fine...
Ive had my 06' with chrono pack for 15 hours. So far no issues.:grin::sly::roll:

my '06 Kouper seems to be at least a minute late, I've reset it a couple of times in sync with my satalite radio, and it always seems to drop slow about 45 sec to a minute, after 3 attempts, I said screw it, I have my wrist watch, the time on the Kouper instrament panel and then my satalite radio. what's 1 min late..... After all when your the boss at work, who cares if your late!
