Hi

I could not find a support parts number of any kind i emailed brembo.com with their support form, I also tried their Iphone App.

I have a thread going in the Tires, Wheels and Brakes section about options for the Gen1 and 2 cars relative to braking.

From what I have read and done myself in getting a Chevy Cobalt SS Brembo kit work on our cars, IMO you would have to rework the entire hub section in order to be able to mount the Gen2 JCW Brembo package to the Gen2 GP rotor. The Cobalt Brembo after enlarging the mount holes by about 1.5 mm each is made for the 330 mm GP rotor.

I get nothing back when I search for that part number. You have a reference? The offset from the Gen2 JCW edge of rotor to the Gen2 GP edge of rotor would be only 7 mm and the bolt that holds the caliper to the hub mount is 12 mm so I would be very interested to see a bracket that accomplishes that.

Whine not Walnuts 06-22-2018 05:51 PM

Unless this is not about trying to use the Gen2 JCW Brembo.

Whine not Walnuts 06-22-2018 05:57 PM

To answer my own question, Yes Old Man he is talking about the Brembo Kit that has radial mount calipers and two piece rotors, not the Family E caliper that the Gen2 JCW uses.

Whine not Walnuts 06-22-2018 06:04 PM

That kit is/was like $2,300. WOW. My Cobalt idea looks better and better.

I got the whole lot for about $270 from yahoo auctions just no brackets!

Been reading your thread Whine not Walnuts interesting...

Whine not Walnuts 06-23-2018 05:12 AM

Great price.

The problem I have found from my brake option thread is that Brembo does not make it easy to find anything. What is the spacing for the radial mount openings and how far are they off the rotor face? With the spacing you might be able to find a Wilwood drawing that could help you narrow things down.

p4ntb0y 06-23-2018 05:21 AM

looks like 130mm centre to centre and 55mm from centre of caliper to center hole

p4ntb0y 06-23-2018 06:14 AM

mm i could not find the part number however i found a picture of the adapter bracket from pelican parts i emailed them but they only sell as part of a kit

I would:

1.) Mount the rotor
2.) Place the caliper on the rotor and by using wood blocks/brake pads and soft wood shims get the caliper centered and placed so that the rotor is protruding above the pads by at least 1 mm.
3.) You are now able to determine what type metal angle you need; 1.25" x 2", 2x2, 2x2.5 etc. I would want at least a 5/16" think angle.
4.) As your holes are 130 mm center to center, I would start with a 7" long angle.
5.) With the caliper/rotor shimmed back in place, place on leg onto the hub/carrier connection and the other up to the bottom of the caliper. You should be able to use a small c-clamp to hold the angle in place. Cut the angle if the caliper ends are hitting it due to the curvature.
6.) Now mark the locations of the holes on both angle legs.
7.) Place the hub/carrier bolt from the back side so that you can place a nut on the face of the angle you can see. The hub/carrier is a 12 mm bolt.
8.) Do the same thing with the leg that is against the caliper.

Of course what I can see in my head cannot always be explained so others can figure it out.

Whine not Walnuts 06-23-2018 06:49 AM

IMO if the angle needs to mounted so that it is between the hub/carrier and the back of the rotor, there is enough room as there is approximately 7/8". .

Whine not Walnuts 06-26-2018 04:50 AM

That sucks. They do have drawings but trying to find them is near impossible.

Was doing some brake pad research for my other thread and came across the below on the Lotus style Brembo Calipers as that appears to be what the Chevy Cobalt SS used. What is the pad number for what you bought?

Lotus calipers are found in many Brembo GT Big Brake Kits, including these BMW models:
