CEL P0118 Code

I just changed my clutch and did a SC servicing. During the process I noticed a connection from the main engine harness, turns out my coolant temp sensor was broken off in the connector. So I ordered and installed a new CTS.

After I got everything all buttoned up I start the car and what do ya know? Temp gauge shoots straight up to the red line! Same CEL code. P0118 Engine Coolant Temp Circuit High Input...

I went with an eBay replacement, put a small amount of teflon tape on the threads, plugged it in and that was that. I finished the car up.

Tonight I let the car idle with the heat on for about 15 minutes to bleed the coolant system. Didn't seem to get much air out but all hoses ended up getting warm, so the coolant is flowing like it should.

-40 F coolant temp huh?
What's causing this annoying code!?

As always, all input is appreciated.
Thanks guys!
