2005 mini cooper Auto tranny swap
 
my friend has a 05 mini with CVT auto
it's started skipping recently and it isnt smooth

we want to know how hard is it to do a tranny swap on this car?
how many hr of a job ?
any area to pay attention to ?
we will attempt this in my back yard garage.
any guides out there?

Somebody wrote about a CVT rebuild success just a few weeks weeks ago.

You are looking at a pretty big job, I think the book time is like 20 hours. Not fun.

and may be some re-coding of the ECU that needs to be done as well.. Not on here but someone just did this swap over on *** with a write up etc...

We've done this more than anyone else and have all the coding and programming to do it. The basics of installing the new 6spd is all nut and bolt just install as long as you have all the factory S parts with the trans.
Then ship us all your computers and we will program and code them to know the car is a manual and keep the lights off, and start without any extra wiring.
