Cabrio cross braces

i just had a question, so i bought a pair of cabrio crossbraces from the junkyard today from a convertible, when i went to fit it on my car, it seems to fall a little to short, i looked up the mounting points where everyone mounts theirs up to but theyre either to short or wont fit flush, so question is, are the crossbraces from waymotorworks longer? or what?

and the front end of it was not crashed so i dont think these are bent

It's cause you have an early car that doesn't have the holes there already. If you move the brace around and get it positioned correctly it will fit, but you will need self tapping screws or have to drill some holes.

yeah i know, i was just test fitting them, i cut of an ear to make the passenger side fit, it wouldnt sit flush because of the ground strap stud thats elevated, so i cut it just right that the ear that i cut off would push up against the stud

okay so this is bugging the hell out of me how it didnt mount up right, and had to cut it to make it fit. i think theres a defect with just my car or any 2002 cooper, i compared my photo to a photo of a proper install, and i think the ground strap stud is in the wrong place on my car because it looks to far out, and in a different spot than every other picture, anyone else have the same problem?

and no the mini cooper from the junk yard was not in a front end accident, so its not bent, and it looks straight

Something I notice from one of the pictures. You don't have strut tower plates. It is strongly recommend you install those as well as the strut towers on the Gen 1 MINI is prone to mushrooming.
