Fuel mileage computer retrofit.

I have a 2002 R50. It didn't come with the fuel milage/ miles to empty computer. I have the opportunity to get some parts off of a wrecked 2003 Mini S. My question is, is this something that may already be programmed in my car and all I'll need is the turn signal stalk with the appropriate button or is it going to be way more involved than that.

I did not have the OBC on my 2006 MCS. The dealer turned it on for me. Just a flip of the switch when hooked up to the dealers computer. Not sure if would work the same for your Cooper.

Think you need the wiper stalk with the little computer / and some other itames in the kit;. Then they will need to flash it. Newer MINIs Gen I believe its just need turned on.

^^^ Correct I had forgotten you needed this switch. My car came equipped with that switch, so only having the dealer do the computer secret handshake was needed.

Yea,

You dont see too many older Gen 1 MINIs without the little computer switch. :)
