Damn not bad... I am well on my way with you.. had my MINI for 1 month and have 5200 miles. I think that I saw an ad somewhere for a MINI for sale with believe it or not, 250,000 miles on it.... a typo maybe?

Doug, that is SO awesome! Thanks for the picture. It is perfect, 100000. Mingo has a little over 4000 miles after one month of ownership..but I have already taken two trips, plus my normal commute and running around, so I would think I won't continue at this pace. I think everyone should rejoice in this...with the rap our cars have gotten for poor reliability (note...consumer reports refuses to recommend a mini because of reliability issues) we need to really embrace this positive news!!

Its nice to hear these high mileage stories. I thought I was doing well at 38K. Only replaced the transmission Otherwise smooth sailing. Any advice for us short milegaers

Congrats to ya!!

It's great to see those numbers and makes me think with any probs encountered there was enough love to keep a Mini. My first brand new car in twenty years and thoroughly enjoy the car. Great news to us since we do tend to keep a vehicle through thick and thin. Had ours since third week in April and showing 6000 on the odometer. Funnest car I have ever owned to drive. I won't race ya red light to red light but gonna lose ya in the twisties

Congrats on 100K!

I'm a little surprised that people think this doesn't happen often. I personally have driven several cars over 100K miles in my lifetime. When I got my Mini I sold my 96 Saturn with 130K miles on it and the guy who bought it is still driving it. These days it's not THAT unusual - but doing 100K in that short of a time is certainly a bit out of the ordinary - and if you're the first to hit that mark in a Mini in the US - THAT'S VERY COOL!

I have an old Volvo - there's a guy in our Volvo club (VSA) that has 2.2 MILLION miles on his 67 Volvo 1800S (which he bought new). All documented by his local dealer. When he hit 1 million Volvo gave him a free car - when he hit 2 mil they gave him another car! He's still going - now that he's retired he drives all over in that car...

Take good care of your car, it will motor on for a long, long time...

What about the other fluids: transmission oil, brake oil, coolant? I'm assuming you had to at least add some coolant, but has any of these been changed?

Again, CONGRATULATIONS!
Definitely, at least, a personalized 100K badge...say, in RED.

A (100,000) milestone!

Congratulations! For some people, hitting 100 grand on their car is a minor milestone, but in your case, your milestone is being shared by hundreds, if not thousands or more people! How many other brands can claim this? We are all celebrating, even the manufacturer took notice (after all, it was not the usual canned response this time! )!

To steal a bit of MINI-speak, Let's PARTY!

Have not changed the transmission fluid yet. Just before the vacation I had the brake fluid replaced. And or course the antifreeze. Might get to the transmission latter on.

a 96 Saturn with 130,000 miles in 2002 is not that big of a deal, thats 8 years. A 2002 MINI in 2004 with 100,000 miles is, thats 2 years.

What difference does the time frame make? Miles are miles.

If they keep giving him new cars, then why is he driving the old one???

Because a P1800 is a really cool Volvo and he obviously likes it... I'd drive my MINI if it hit 2.2 Million miles... It'd be cool to be the only person in history to drive the same vehicle for that many miles of smiles...

See... his car is red, shiny and cool... just like my Sebby! So I guess you have your challenge laidout Doug!!
