Of course I'm gonna drive in the snow! No choice but to, ehe. Don't have ASC/DSC, but the brakes are great, and the CBC should handle things pretty well. All one has to do is drive carefully.

Definitely NOT. The roads here in Utah during the winter are a mess! Paint chips and glass chips galore due to rocks on roadways and such. My MINI will only be driven on the weekends and such in good weather.
I'm SUV shopping right now for a Winter car. Gotta rush... snow is just around the corner!!!

I'll be motoring in the MINI during the winter season, but then again I live in Los Angeles.
The city does have its problems, but at least I don't run the risk of death from extreme heat or cold.
I do have one concern, and that is in some places in Orange County where I work, the streets tend to get flooded during heavy bouts of rain. I was curious about the MINI's height off the ground and if it runs the chance of being more easily flooded.

Living in Tennessee, we don't get that much snow, and what does fall, seems to be gone the next day...so yep, I'll be driven it. I have an enjoyable trip from my home to work each day, 15 miles of countryside, it's really great. I work in a rural school.

Just spoke to a friend who got back from Sweden yesterday. She said the streets were full of minis!! They had several different colors (emerald green, and the gold we will see in the spring), and several had four driving lights mounted on the bumpers (which she thought looked great), and bonnet stripes that looked more pointed, like flames. She said they were doing fine in the ice/rain and snow in the city, and she saw just as many motoring up in the snowy mountains above the tree line.
It gave me a little more confidence to drive mine in the winter. Still haven't decided whether to get a 2nd set of rims and tires for winter.

I will be driving Molly in the winter. I too am trying to decide on rims/tires.
I kept trying to convince the wife to let me keep my '93 AWD Subie with only 88K miles for the winter - great car, but I didn't win that argument (discussion?).

Hi friendly cop!!
I was taught never to argue with a police office. You are right and I can ride all winter; heated jacket and gloves. They are great!!

Since I am not picking my Mini up until January it will be driven in snow at least from the dealership to home in Syracuse, NY where we average 120" of snow a year. With the large snow banks here, I worry that the snow plow truck will plow my mini into a snow bank. We use a ton of salt here, so I will only drive it in winter on clear days.
In another thread someone swore by Nokian winter tires. I might try those.
Winter here is when SUV drivers learn the hard way that four wheel drive does not help you stop any better than anyone else. It is fun to watch them play bumper cars as long as you are not watching in your rear view mirror.
I love skiing so let it snow!

Yes, MINIclo will be driven in the tough West L.A. winter! LOL!
I could drive her up to the mountains, but she'll require chains...and I'm not into that!

Yucky weather Nooooooo way for Buster ! Don't have too so won't ( other than to check out handling for a vew blocks) I'm psycho enough without fretting about some idoit sliding into the boot. Had that happen many moons ago in a previously perfect 1966 Cooper S. Besides, in Colorado --- Just wait a day or two and the weather is perfect for motoring again.
I'm not a cat lover but love your cat picture.

LMAO. Clover, I know it can be tough in L.A. in the winter. I remember when there was a heavy mist (called "rain" by Johnny Mountain and Dallas Raines - the greatest weatherman names ever) that would could easily double the time it took to get home from work. It always made me laugh that some people would drive at 30 MPH on the 405 in the rain, while others drove along at 90 weaving in and out of traffic. No wonder L.A. can rack up 400-500 accidents on a rainy morning commute.:P Yes, MINIclo will be driven in the tough West L.A. winter! LOL!

I'm in the same boat.. only mine's a BMW, not a Harley, but same other than that. I think motorcyclists have an advantage in the world of MINI.. we already know where all the best motoring roads are.

I bought the MINI ESPECIALLY for winter.
It will be mainly a rainy day/snow&salt/day I need to transport more than just the bare minimum. The MINI has a TON of storage next to a Ferrari 328 and is a lot more replacable since MINI is pumping out 10k cars for the US a year.

How about that snow in Boston this morning, eh? I had a white hood to match my white roof... I mainly walk to work and I just had an underground parking space fall into my lap for the next three months, so my car is basically going to live there and only see the elemtns when necessary.

Lucy is my toy car and I will tuck her safely into the garage to hibernate through the winter. Then I will drive my reliable old '97 Honda in the snow.
I WILL miss the heated seats in Lucy though!
