Hey I was just wondering if there were any stock MINI's left anymore. Mine is a 2002 MCS, and is still stock, but in December it will no longer be
|
Still stock (since August '02)
Only have added: - Shorty "billet" antena - MINI driving lights (well, actually, these are stock) - Whalen shift knob Stock Rocks! God speed. |
I still have a stock S, but when I get home this weekend I want to put on the Whalen that's been sitting at home for the past week. When I move back and get a job I want to put a UUC exhaust, alta cold air intake, pulley, etc... but I'll probably just end up with the alta for a while. Stock is still fun though.

I was wondering ..myself
It seems that there are stages that people go thru re: mods. 1st>...There are those mods that keep the warantee intact. The list is pretty extensive but it includes the likes of: exhausts, air-intakes, lowering springs, tries & rims, rear sway bars.....etc. 2nd>...now we say...goodbye to our warantee concerns. The leader of this list is the ceratinly the "pulley", ECU re-maps....etc. There are many items to add to these lists... Come on ladies and gents........ let's hear your voices  Peace, D _________________ I own a 2002 MCS w/ alot of stuff on it. http://members.roadfly.com/dminiero/tenzo3.jpghttp://members.roadfly.com/dminiero/...iero-small.jpghttp://members.roadfly.com/dminiero/Dennis.jpg |

I got a chuckle out of your post. Several years after the Datsun 240Z hit the US , no-one could remember what the stock wheels looked like! Seemed like everyone was slapping aftermarket mags on them. Looks like there will be relatively few un-modded MCS's out there. Guess it's the nature of the beast.. |
I took my MCS to the track to the other day, and after that, I was done with the stuck mode. I wanted to get it sooped up for a long time, but never got around to it, but since Randy is coming to town, time to get my Pulley and alta intake, I wish he was doing exausts too, but o well.

Do tinted windows make if no longer stock? Of course it's "only" a Cooper so I guess there's not the same expectation to mod. I am getting a sunroof flag and a chrome license plate holder for Christmas. As far as engine mods, don't have um, don't need um. I'm hanging on to my warranty, (or is it warrantee?), for as long as possible.

I've been driving my stock 03 MCS for about a year now. Living in Colorado I get to drive on many mountain roads. The car is not the fastest on urban streets from stop light to stop light, but take it to the canyon roads and drive it hard, and I mean for more than a couple of hundred yards. I myself haven't reached the skill level needed to handle what the car is capable of. Stock is fine for me. Warranty is intact. Resale value is there. And, I'm getting the thrill of knowing that one set of S curves a little better each time.

Stock??? MCS??? Where???
|
Hey Emmit, where about in CO do you live, because I just moved out of Littleton and am now in FL. I miss the mountain roads, but i sure dont miss the cold weather

SuperMini03,
I live west of Loveland on 34 at the mouth of the Big Thompson Canyon. Awsome driving in the narrows but its snowing tonight and Mini is packed away until they sweep up the sand and gravel. Mini don't do sand and gravel. Love FL.. Go to Sanibel for Snook fishing every May. |

Depends what you consider stock. Mine is pretty close I guess. I only added an Infiniy bass link and clear turn signals. I would like to make some changes but I can't justify spending the money on a leased car.

>> Less than 4-5% are active in our MINI club (half are stock). Maybe 2-3% are on NAM. Therefore most MINIs are left stock and are perfectly happy.

WASSUP, RANDY!!! How's it going  ?! Are you gonna defend your HS September title on Saturday?? I'll be there at around 1:00. Hope to see you then, pal

Thats not very many stock MINI's left

Stock, what's that? I think I've heard of that concept.

Stock?
MMMMMMM... The only thing I have done is a K & N filter and Kumho MX tires for this years autocross season, 1st in street tire class in the Reno region. I guess I'm getting old because I don't feel the need for any other mods. (If wheels and tires for next season don't count and these will only see the track.) The car has plenty of power for the street and handles great. The only thing I think the car needs is a limit slip differential. Oh, one other thing, I even like the stock wheels, go figure. Enjoy  |
I'm still pretty much stock...made a few cosmetic changes, but pretty much stock. I picked Penny up in August '02.

Add one more to your stock list. Had mine delivered to me from NY on September 4th. My only mod is a GoMiniGo glove box organizer with red felt!
|
I've got two that are still stock. Both are 2002. One MCS and one MC. No modifications at all at this point. Got the MCS in June 02 and the MC in October 02.
|
Don't give in! Our little Mini's are expensive to mod!
Besides, I'd rather buy "accessories" for myself! |
Stone stock, baby. And I've had the car for a whole week.
|
My Chili Red 03 MCS is totally stock except for an air intake, but that's about to change. Next month I'm going to Helix to get the Pulley, Borla Race exhaust and rear sway bar.
