Could someone tell me what size allen head is used to remove the front seats? I want to pick up a socket version on the way home tonight and don't have any allen's on me to check it.

It's actually a Torx head, not an Allen - a T40.

I'd suggest picking up a set of the larger sizes - MINI uses a LOT of Torx-head screws, as they work well for assembly-line production.

I bought a 7 piece set from sears a while back.

The odd sizes and smaller ones came in an old Stanley tool set of mine.

Thank you very much for the tip. I have plenty of Torx, but they are all the drill bit style ones.
