Tried a search, cant find a How to for the Alta Intake
anyone know of a link. please post. thanks

I never did look for a how to when I installed mine but the instructions that come with the system were very explicit and easy to follow.
By the way I'm very pleased with my alta system but after getting a little taste for performance I couldn't stop myself and ended up having the pulley done by Helix a week later. My car runs a lot stronger and more fuel efficient.

Yea, Im removing my strut brace bar, and ordering an Alta intake and a sway bar from Randy. I had the pulley and Powerchip ECU done at the atlanta party last month, its great the pickup and response is great, I just want more than the BMP
seems to give, I took several rides in other mcs that had the Alta, I like the sound
and it seems more pop than the bmp.

Darxar -- Randy told me he was going to post one RSN (Real! Soon! Now!), but I guess he hasn't gotten A Round 'Tuit.

So let me offer some comments -- I just installed an ALTA and after I finished,
I found this one Randy had posted some time ago that I wished I had reviewed first even though it isn't specifically about the ALTA.

His old How To covers the most important part of the ALTA install -- namely the removal of the plastic "firewall" panel behind the existing air box. Follow it down to the place where he drills all the holes in the old firewall and ignore those steps. The only step that I didn't find necessary to do was the removal of the intercooler shroud.

Now for some personal comments: The (somewhat meager) instructions that come with the ALTA show how to put the new box in place.

When you do the install, you will find that the new filter comes pre-oiled. The filter is held in place with a 3" spiral clamp clamping the rubber end of the filter onto the metal pipe. You

what kind of tape would you use if you were to add that as an extra bit of holding
power? not sure what kind of tape would be good to use under their?

Darxar, I did my own install. I did not find the need for tape or any mods to keep the filter in place. I didn't even clean the oil from the filter lip. I made sure that the filter is pushed all the way on to the new box frame and the hoseclamp is not overtightened. I've had my alta now for 1500 miles without any problems but plenty of performance and musical supercharger sounds. The install sheet that comes with the system does not have many pictures, make sure you read the instructions carefuly item by item before you start to take your airbox appart. I'm a bicycle mechanic and somewhat handy with stuff, been messing with stuff all my life. If you aren't the handy type I would recommend you let somebody qualified do the install for you.
