I had a miata. Loved it so much, can't stop talking about it even after i sold it exactly 5 months ago. The sad thing is, it had a few peppy mods to it (intake, high flo cat, muffler, ACT clutch, lightened flywheel, blah blah) but i never drove it fast. I can't even recall taking it over 72, and that was in a 65... and i never took the RPMs over 4k, and the little booger redlined at like 7200. It wasn't until i got my MINI that i started taking my RPM's up to 6k.

I hung out with a guy i've been friends with (but very rarely see) for 15 years last week, and his 2 guy friends. They started talking about cars, and i had to jump in because i love talking about them. They kept giving me stupid looks when i tried to join in on things i knew about, but after a while they realized i do know a thing or two about cars. One of them was about to go home, and he left, but came back in immediately and asked if that was my little yellow mini outside (i guess it just LOOKS like it would fit me? i never brought it up!) and i said yes, and offered him the keys. Once he found out it was a manual transmission, he said i should take his car for a spin. He drove his bike home, and came back with a 94 twin turbo RX-7. My heart melted when i went back outside and saw it. He handed me the keys, and a pillow to sit on so i could see over the dash, and i got a feel for the clutch, then backed it out. I hit the gas and revved it up a little high in first gear out the parking lot... then PSHOOO. OMG THAT BLOW OFF VALVE WAS SO SEXY. I drove it down the street and back, and did NOT want to give the car back.

Since i'm a kid, and still owe on my mini and am saving up to move out, an RX-7 is WAY out of the question. But i'm dying to get another miata and turbocharging it and putting a nice LOUD blow off valve on. I'm trying my very hardest (and have succeeded for 5 months now) to keep my MINI stock, since it's my reliable daily driver. But i'm DYING for a turbocharged car now!

/story time. Trying so hard to convince myself i dont need a turbocharged car... but it's not working I never wanted a fast car, especially since i don't drive fast... but my heart sank everytime i heard that blow off valve. Of course, then i'll want a mroe powerful clutch, short shifter, straight pipes... stupid ex had to get me into a bad hobby.

 

FYI - the '07 MCS is supposed to be a turbo. Start savin'!

I forgot about the turbo mini. But i'm getting very attached to mine, as simple as it is, and i really really love miata's. I was going to trade up for an S, but i can't quite bring myself to do it.
