On the way back from Buttonwillow last Friday I droe Los Gatos Creek road from Coalinga to Highway 25 and Hollister. Here is a map of the road. This road gets very twisty in places. It is lock to lock over the hills near Hernandez Reservoir and very bumpy. It is smooth and quick up to the San Benito County Line. No traffic. Lots of hills. Very remote. This part of the route is 44 miles. It starts just a few miles outside of Coalinga.

Near Coalinga
Here is at look at the road near Coalinga. I was in a hurry to get to Hollister before dark after spending the day at the track so didn't stop much for pictures. This house to my left was for sale and the owners came out and insisted that I check it out.

San Benito County Line
Here is the road at the county line. I didn't see any radar out there. I didn't see anyone really. Had the road to myself. I guess someone drives this road though since the sign was shot full of holes.

Looking back
Here is the road looking the other way. You can get an idea of how smooth it is before the county line and the elevation.

I've been on that road before and you're correct - I didn't see another person during the trip. I also found out how fast a MINI could travel down a country road (not that I would advocate exceeding the speed limit on any road/street/highway).
