The picture is fine, but I can't hear squat!

Here is my original thread: Click

I got em hooked up and the picture is bright and clear. The only problem is that I can't hear anything! The volume is up all the way and all the cords are hooked up, and the connections are tight. They do have built in speakers. I can hear it if I plug in some headphones.

Is it not getting enough power?
What am I doing wrong? :impatient

Sounds to me like they *don't* have built in speakers!

qwertmonkey Jul 30, 2006 04:24 PM

lol I know they do! It says it in the manual, and I can see them on the back.

What is the brand/model of the unit? If there is a manual online, maybe one of us can find a clue. Did the speakers never work even before you installed the units?

qwertmonkey Jul 30, 2006 05:17 PM

I havent heard any noise come out of the speakers. The manual I have says if there is a picture but no sound, then:

unplug the headphones
or
turn up the volume.

Both have been done.

Heres my question. Is it cause the speakers are on the back and are blocked by the rest of the head-rest??

I poped them out while the video was playing. Still no sound. I turned the volume up all the way, and put me head next to the thing. Nothing.

What is the manufacturer and model?

qwertmonkey Jul 31, 2006 01:48 PM

I believe it is an:

TFT
LCM-50R

rkw Jul 31, 2006 03:46 PM

TFT is the version of LCD technology it uses. Googling on LCM-50R yielded this: http://www.axion.de/content2/modules...7667411242.pdf. I think it is a little suspicious that the feature list does not mention speakers, although it is baffling if the manual says they are there. It would be quite a challenge for a tiny amplifier and small flat speakers to play adequately inside a car (and pointed into the headrest!). The case may have holes for speakers, but can you actually see a speaker in there? If it doesn't work out, it may be better anyway to play the audio through your car stereo's aux input.

Thanks for the link. I googled it, but couldn't find that.

i'll probably wire it up to an AUX imput...(when it arrives in the mail. *Clears throat*)

I just need an extention cord....or wire for it. I have the splitter. Just waiting for the imput.
