There was a Chili Red/Chili Red Cooper on the Simpson's second new episode last night. Was merging into traffic from a parallel parking spot as the Simpsons were driving by. I couldn't believe my eyes. I had to rewind (damn I love my hard disk recorder on the satelite) to be sure I wasn't seeing things! First showed it from the side, then from the front. Darn obvious it was a Cooper and not some other small car. Way to go Groening!

I saw the Monster Garage episode Sat night. It intrigued me yet sickened me at the same time. I was interested in seeing the "guts" of a MINI, but agree with you that it was a waste of a wonderful car.
I was glad that the MINI fought back a couple of times by bursting into flame during a couple of their welding sessions.

 

i'll have to ask my friend at work for the episode, he archives them to dvd.
he's a simpsons fanatic! i'll have to take a screen capture for a new sig!

 

That's some good eye work there. I wouldn't have known. But now it's got curious. I want to see that episode again now.

There was a CR/CR Cooper in the botanical gardens parking lot on the recent episode where Moe saves Maggie. It was drawn in perfect detail, right down to the wrap-around rear quarter windows. Looked like the 7 hole wheels in silver but was kinda hard to tell.

Also in the Spellympics episode back in Feb. an IB/IB Cooper passes the family on the road. That one had a sunroof and was just barely recognizable.

What's wrong with Matt? Why does the S get no love? And why no contrasting roofs or graphics?

There was a MINI in the 300th (302nd) episode special as well.

he runs his digital cable output into his mini-dv camera on standby and captures on his mac via firewire in realtime. i think he uses final cut pro, but i'm sure that imovie would work the same way. it's not the most elegant way to do this, but it looks really good! better than most video card captures. i scaled down the images in this post a ton. the orig's look great big!

 

See what I mean about the detail! He even has the side grilles, antenna, and boot latch drawn to perfection. Much better than the crude blue MINI in the earlier episode. Maybe he owns one now and is more aware of the details. Apparently his other car is a pea-green Range Rover.

Immediately after the scene nfo posted, the MINI backs out and pulls alongside the Simpsons, showing off its bonnet.

Yes! Saw it several times tonight!

 

My lil sister said there was another new MINI commercial with a yellow MINI but I missed it...

I've seen the one with the Blue MINI at least 5 times already
