Fluid silver elliptical ring: Silver or metal?

The fluid silver elliptical ring on the passenger side of my MC has two tiny dots in a very visible area. My husband thought they were glue, but nothing gets them out so I'm thinking they're tiny scratches...each the size of a pinhead. I know I'm being ridiculous about something this small, but they stand out because they're another color. At first I thought they were yellowish green, but now I'm thinking maybe they're white. Anyway, if they are scratches, should I use plastic scratch remover or is the fluid silver made of metal? I've taken a picture of one of the "scratches" that won't tell you much but it will give you an idea. It's the white dot in the center of the flashlight ring. Of course I had to take the picture at night.

Well, I'm guessing plastic and that Novus scratch remover will get it out.

Yes I believe the elliptical rings are plastic.
