Sports Suspension - Does it have Stiffer Springs ??

I am down to days before ordering and the sports suspension is the last option I am debating on. Some post talk about it having a thicker sway bar and stiffer springs and others say it is just a thicker sway bar (17mm standard to 18mm sports). $500 for a thicker bar seems like a lot. After market is one option I am considering; thicker sway bar, springs and shocks with a lower profile.

Any input is welcome... TIA

On the MINI web site, the sport suspension talks mostly about sway bars. However, for your $500, you actually get springs, shocks AND sway bars. Looking on the parts catalog, all these items have different numbers based on whether the car has a sports suspension or not. I don't have it on my MCS, but I kind of wish I did.

Hypersport mentions firmer suspension and thicker sway bars. Sport suspension only mentions thicker sway bars.

Sports suspensions DOES have different springs and sway bars. Not sure about shocks but I'd think so.

Unless you really want the most comfortable ride possible get it. SS is not as rough as the normal suspension on an 06 S.

I wonder what it would cost to install it as an after market item?
