Auto Sport Button wiring

I was browsing the Jeep forum, and came upon a post where a time delay one shot relay was used to turn on the heated seats, when the Jeep was started. This got me thinking about using the same setup to enable the sport button, automatically, when the MCS was started. The original Jeep thread link is below...seems like the only trick would be to connect to switched 12volts to initiate the sequence, then parallel the relay contacts to the sport button contacts.

You would first need to determine if the OEM switch is Normally Open or Normally Closed, Momentary or Maintained contact.

Agreed, but since the OEM sport button switch does not have an on/off detent, I am pretty sure that it is momentary. This would be consistent with BMW electronics typical method of wiring.

You'd have to test to confirm but you should be able to wire it in with the run position of the column switch. With the push button start it would be dirt easy. The bigger question is if there is a time delay between when the computer is able to accept the input and the car starts.

Truthfully this is probably a lot more work than its worth. But in the winter the heated seats would be a blast.
