Okay, I have a MINI dealer installed alarm system and its great....but....can it be programmed to chirp when activated. My alarm in a previous car did this and it really reassuring when walking away from the car just to hear that little chirp behind me. Does anybody's MINI alarm already do this? To complicate things...several times when I used my key to roll up the windows, lock the car, and set the alarm...I swear I heard something like a faint chirp. It got me thinking...but then maybe I'm just hearing things...or the key is interacting with my pacemaker.

Only chirps with a door open....

 

it is accidently disabled I believe when using key to close windows. There are some pretty good instructions and explanations of how it works in the online version of the owners manual. If you push lock 2 times it disables some features. Don't think you can make it chirp though, except as mini-rolls say's with a door a jar

Yes, you're right...I tried this last night. Wish it operated just the opposite though. I want a chirp to confirm alarm activation. If its silent, then I'd know something's not set. I'm going to find out if there's a programming option for this at the dealer. I like the system...so if it won't adjust...I will!
