'06 MINI Hood Damage
My daughter got into a fender bender yesterday from merely rolling down (gravity) 10ft to the car in front of her while she was looking left to turn right. She hit the bumper of a Toyota Sequoia (minor scratch) and unbelievably all it did to the Mini was break the grill & put a crumple in the hood.
I had a body shop look at it (R50) and of course they wanted to order a new hood, etc. and paint to match, all for an unbelievable price ($1200). Is it not possible to just order a sky blue hood from the factory & not have to do a custom paint job?

They only come in Primer.

DoubleACL... I'm sorry to hear of you and your daughter's mishap, but I do have to ask you not to post the same topic in more than one forum. It is called "double posting", and it is against NAM Site Guidelines.

Sorry Edge, I didn't intend for the dupe.
I sent you a message to find out what forum would be best for this post and was going to go back and delete dupe out of the forum where it didn't belong.
But by the time I finished the message to you, you had already removed the dupe. Wont' happen again.

No biggie - ignorance is bliss, right?
Seriously though, since you're new to NAM, it would be a good idea to spend a few minutes going over the guidelines, so you better understand how things are run here. Also, it will allow you to help us as well by reporting other posts (using the Report Post icon
) that are outside the guidelines (post reports are kept private from everyone except the moderators).
Actually, regular members can't delete threads and posts, including their own... although they can edit them and delete the content (the post itself will still be there though)... so once you created a second thread, a moderator would have had to step in anyway to fix it.
