R56 How much will my car "loosen up?"
How much will my car "loosen up?"
Still in the honeymoon period with my new Lightning Blue MCS (only 250 miles on the odo). Best car I've ever owned, hands down.
Anywho, I was wondering how much I should expect the car to "loosen up" in regards to acceleration....I know it can take a few thousand miles for engines to get up to their full potential.
Not that I'm complaining, of course...my R56 is already much quicker than my RSX-S that I used as a trade-in....

Don't know about the turbo motor, but my 2004 MCS really began to come on strong after about 20,000 to 25,000 miles on the clock. I found this to be true of my 328i as well.
Just observe your run-in period and then, if the new motors wear-in like the Tritecs, enjoy the engine as it steadily gets better and better!

Sounds about right, just make sure to follow proper breakin procedure. I don't know about R56 motors but improperly broken-in turbos are notorious for being down on power vs properly cared-for examples, burning oil, etc.
