Another Disappearing Palo Uber Thread

Well, it looks like yet another thread has been deleted (or "put under review") without comment or warning.

This time, it was the 'Palo Uber PATENT INFRINGEMENT' thread that was unceremoniously yanked. The thread was started in an attempt to get clarification/further details about Palo Uber's posted claim that they were in litigation with another company for allegedly infringing on PU's patent for their "light bar". The other company was never identified, no details were given about the legal action, and there's no evidence that PU actually holds a US or UK patent for their Light Bar or any of their other products.

Not sure what site guidelines (if any) were being violated, so maybe the moderators can chime in?

I too was following this thread, (without posting) but you're right, I'd be curious (would also like to learn something) from the mods why this one was pulled, that is unless PU threaten legal action against the site.

I'm sure..

that it was just another paying sponsor not liking the tone of the thread. But I too find it frustrating that there's mention of a patent in a vendor announcemnt, with no follow up, no response to PMs and the like.

We can all vote with our wallets, but really, I'd prefere for the vendors to keep supplying us with options, but leaving the patent gauntlet down unless there is real meat on the bones, to mix a lot of metaphores!

I'm still waiting for a patent number. I guess the hints in the vendor announcements are all we'll get.

That's too bad, as threatening patent action is the start of screwing with the market operations, if there is no real patent to threaten with. But now, at leat there is indication that PU knows about an infringing product. I think in the US the clock is ticking. They have a year to file. If not, then no one in the US needs to worry....

Both threads will be returned, though given the way things deteriorated they will be coming back in a locked state. That said, we recognize there are legitimate issues being raised here, and that's why the threads will remain a matter of record on NAM. If one of us gets some time freed up, that should happen later today.

There are some things also going on behind the scenes and to bring you up to speed a bit, Mark and Sam both spoke to Patrick at Palo Uber MINI at AMVIV. NAM recognizes that there are issues related to the way this vendor has represented themselves and their products on NAM. As a result there has been considerable effort spent to try to get a representative for Palo Uber products to really be able to step forward and better answer the questions and provide better representation of Palo Uber on NAM.

There are some issue still being worked, however, in the near term (I would presonally hope within the coming week, if not sooner) there should be some pretty significant changes in terms of the representation of Palo Uber on NAM.

NAM can only do so much, but we are actively working with the parties involved to get better representation of the product on the forums.

One more item I would like to add. Another round of harping on the Palo Uber issues isn't going to help matters. I would simply ask at this point that you give the new representation of Palo Uber products a chance to come forward and provide as much detail as they can. I know that they have personally been here in SoCal to see the Palo Uber operation first hand and having taken on the Palo Uber product line themselves, they should have the ability to comment more about the issues involved directly.

I believe there should be a major clearing of the air on this soon, so again, I'd just like to ask people to have patience, because things are in work.

Dave

The newly deleted thread suddenly got really nasty with personal attacks between several members and some very tasteless posts. Something had to be done and I'm not surprised that the thread got pulled. No, in this case the Palo Uber MINI company only had to sit back and watch the thread self destruct.

FWIW we had several reported posts this morning come in *from members* (not the vendor). Following that, the thread was pulled for review.

Again, the thread will be coming back, and the vast majority of the thread will remain intact and part of the history on NAM.

As the starter of the 'Patent Infringement' thread I am sad to see it disabled and returning locked. I tried to keep things on topic though I could only do so much.

I unfortunately didn't get to see the posts that really crossed the line but to those that made the posts...
Thanks for acting like complete j@ckasses.
