Reschedule MOTD Casino Night to Thursday?

It seems that we have run into some hesitation with folks not wanting to register for the MINIs In Monte Carlo Casino Night since it is slated for Saturday night between the Dragon Banquet and the Midnight on the Dragon. Our original thought was to schedule it for Thursday night after the Welcome Dinner, but we were encouraged to do Saturday for other reasons.

Now, since registration is somewhat lower than we need to see, we'd like to get YOUR feedback on which night you'd prefer. Obviously it is a little difficult to change horses in the middle of the stream - but if the majority of the people already registered are OK with moving it and even more people would register by moving it to Thursday, then we'd do it. If it seems like it would only create aggravation and frustration without significantly boosting interest, then we'd have no reason to change it.

SO, please let us know your preference (above)!

At this point, while the poll feature will still accept your votes, we will not be using it as a gauge for this year any longer.

This year will remain on Saturday.

All voting hereafter will be used as a gauge for planning next year. Thanks again for voicing your opinions.

Whichever night you want to have it is alright with me! I think that moving it to Thursday might help getting more people signed up! I will be there no matter what so... get to moving it to Thursday!!

I would like it to be moved. I will attend either way, but having a night that I don't have to leave early to drive the Dragon does appeal to me.

Please everyone, sign up and lets get this Casino Night going, it's going to be a blast!

Thanks to everyone who is working so hard to make this event happen.

We arrive late Friday morning. I presume there will be refunds if the date is changed.

Yes, that presumption is correct. Refunds would be made. I know there are at least a few others in the same situation. This would certainly be a factor in the decision. We will only change it if we stand to gain significantly more participation.

Either works for me.
Saturday night is a bit hectic with the Banquet, Midnight Run and this but I can handle it
Thursday would be great as it'll give us something to do after the Welcome Dinner

I could go with either night. To be honest, I think that Midnight On The Dragon is going to be too crowded this year to be as enjoyable as in years past. 160+ MINIs? There's no way that they are all going to fit down at Tabcat Bridge all at the same time. Driving the Dragon at night is thrilling in itself, but with that many MINIs, I don't feel bad about skipping it this year.

I can drive the Dragon at midnight on any of the other nights.

As for Thursday night, the only other "competition" is the Cigar Sampling Salon... and since I don't smoke...

So I haven't voted above, because I'll go regardless of which night it is!

I was going to register 2 more for Saturday . . . unfortunately, we won't be there for a Thursday event -- so I'll wait to see how this pans out before I do sign up.

You don't have the choice in the pole for "I have purchased tickets and don't really care which night you have it on, as long as you tell us which it is......"

I realized that 5 minutes after I posted the poll. There probably should be a "Either is fine" option.

Of course we will make sure everyone knows which night it will be. And, for the record: we will only change it if we get both the majority of current registrants on board AND a significant increase in participation from folks not currently registered. It is just too much hassle to bother changing it otherwise.

Thank you for doing this! It's great to see some flexibility and creativity going on here (planners of Thursday Opening Night Dinner please take note!).
I'd vote for Thursday evening even though it will interfere with my cigar...

I agree that it would be better to move the event to Thursday.

Things are looking up for us Saturday fans! Thanks for adding the extra poll choice. Right now, it does not look like switching to Thursday will sell a lot more tickets.

As you've noted, it is extra ticket sales that matter.

I have to be one who is against changing to Thursday as I won't get there until Friday. So, that will remove me and the three others I have signed up. I don't see what the big problem is with Saturday, it will not keep anybody from the Midnight on the Dragon or any other events. I realize the need for more participants but, I am not sure that the night held is the problem. I think part of it stems from not being available with the opening of registration and part of it is just because it adds another event to an already busy and costly schedule. That said, I sure hope it stays on Saturday so I can attend and I am sure this will be one of the biggest and best nights of fun at the Dragon!!

I am registered for Saturday night, but if it is moved to Thursday night, would there be a possibility of a refund. I will not be down to the Dragon until Friday night. If it is moved to thursday I would need a refund and to cancel my t-shirt order. Please keep me advised. Thanks

While I tend to agree with your points, Jaydeestude, we figured it wouldn't hurt to at least throw the option out. ...how's that phrase go... Run it up the flagpole and see who salutes?

I'd really hate for some of the folks already registered not be able to come, but we're trying to keep the "greater good" in mind with all of this.
