You know you are a cabrio guy when...

I just realized something. I've owned my MCSC for almost two
years now. And to this very day, I have _never_ driven a
hard top MINI.. let alone ride in one, or even sit in one. Anyone
else in the same boat, or am I the only one?

Had a hartop before I got my 'vert and have had several as loaners. There's nothing like a 'vert though.

ditto on that,I went from test driving a Scion to VW Eos,to the MCSca and never looked back... I think my next MINI will be the an 08 or 09 stick with full sunroof... It was 95* this past weekend in Southern Calif LA area and that black raggtop really hets up the interior and the A/C unit in my 06 MCSc is not too good.... plus my leather seats in the heat doesn't help.

Well dam dam dam I can't be a member of this club. I completely forgot that I did drive a tintop dealer loaner one time

I was just telling a friend today that I never test drove the tin top. Does it count if you sat in one at an autoshow? But I'm not a guy so I guess I can't be in the club anyway!

I honestly didn't even test drive my own MINI before I bought it or any MINI for that matter. I bought my MINI Vert and driving it home was the first time I've ever driven a MINI and is to this day the only MINI I've ever driven.

The two new cars I bought did not have ragtops available when I needed to buy...so suffered through great cars with sunroofs since my 67 Fiat 850 Spider and 1960 MGA...(no I didn't buy them new)
Had an '03 MCS, and now am in what could be my last car ever...my delivered-in-time-for-Memorial-Day-weekend MCSc.
Finally - topless again!!!!!!!!!!!

But no apologies for all those years of tintops - love to drive all sorts of cars...no limits!!

Not only did I not drive a tintop, I did not drive a justacooper either. Drove the S with the top down, and the hook was set. I have never ridden in a tin top either....

I knew exactly what I wanted and I bought it. And I do not regret it in the least. My MCc is the most enjoyable car I have ever driven.

Have you tried a good window shade to help keep the dashboard from cooking in the sun. Sometimes doing that lets what cool air they produce go to cooling the car instead of trying to cool a burning dashboard. My Honda Prelude never cooled well untill I started protecting the dashboard from the direct sun. Try it and see.

Never drove or rode in a tintop because I was interested in another convertible. (OK, a Cabrio!)

I ADORE ragtops - I absolutely do - have my top down ALL the time - night or day, no matter how cold. In fact, I'm afraid the cops are gonna pull me over when I'm driving op down at midnight when it's 13 degrees out - can they give out tickets for driving while insane??

BUT - I DO miss my MCS from time to time...I miss the white roof...it is the best looking hard top around! IF you gotta have a roof, then nothing looks better than a white-roofed MINI!

Just had to get that off my chest - I hope I don't incur the wrath of all you diehards!!

Toplessness

I learned to drive in a '66 Comet Convertible. Thank God my dad had his midlife crisis when Iwas a teenager. He had 5 mercury convertibles during those years. I followed with 2 VW verts in the 70"s and now an 06 MCC. It's the only way to drive!

My Dad had a '61 Pontiac Bonneville convertible, white with a shiny ice-blue vinyl interior, when I was in my single digit years. That was a cool car.

I've mostly driven hard tops until recently -- I never thought about a convertible until I drove my friend's Miata with the top down two years ago. I got hooked, and finally took the plunge and bought the drop top MC a few weeks ago!
