How is the leather mfsw and shift ****?

For all of us disappointed buyers that will not be getting the mfsw in wood at least for a few months and will then have the option of getting a retro fit (ask mini confirmed today) - is it worth it replacing the leather wheel? For me a 120 mile trip to the dealer and probably a day off from work. In other words how is the leather steering wheel with shift **** and brake handle?

I have punch carbon leather seats, oak trim, dark silver, black roof.

I think its mostly just a matter of personal preference. When I first got my MINI I hated the leather steering wheel against the wood trim dash. Now that I'm used of seeing it though, its not so bad. To me the main reason I'll be getting the retrofit is because the leather steering wheel kind of blacks out the wood dash to me and you don't notice it as much.

I got the JCW shift **** in leather and LOVE it, i like that feel more than a gripping a ball. Kinda of like a racing thing.

I am anxiously awaiting the retrofit, I do like the leather wheel but it is not what I ordered, It does have a nice chunky feel to it though.
