Renting a MINI?

Hi, I'm a previous MINI owner so I still get lots of MINI questions from friends and family. Here's one I don't have an answer for and need help from the NAM community. Friends of mine love MINIS but would love to try one out prior to committing. If I still owned mine I would gladly lend it to them. Alas, I do not. Does anyone know if it's possible to rent a MINI in the Northeast (USA) area for extended periods of time (at least a couple of weeks)? They've called a couple of dealers but came up with no solutions there. Any thoughts?

Call Enterprise. We have at least two locations here that rent them.

I have been told that another company rents them out west... maybe Hertz?

Visit Flexcar.com.

DC has them, as does Atlanta.. other cities in the Northeast launching soon, including Philly!

Flexcar includes gas and primary insurance too!

I believe there is a car-sharing service in Boston that uses MINIs as well - I think it's called Zipcar if I remember correctly. That's how a friend in Boston ended up buying a MINI in any case - rented a convertible MINI from them for a day and ended up falling in love with it.

I'm in the Philly area and was just going to post the same question. phillycarshare.com has Minis for rent, but they seem to be more for running errands around town. I'm thinking of driving to Pittsburgh for a weekend this summer to see the Phils and Pirates play at PNC Park and I'd love to do the trip in a Mini.

Why, why why?

Did I ever sell my MINI? I now own a new GTI and I can tell you that community is nothing like this one. Love and miss the MINI people. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll pass them on. I've also suggested they consider looking at the forum area at the clubman since they are a young active family with a dog that loves to travel as well. We'll see. Thanks again to all!
