Oil Catch Can

I see that Vender's group buy has a OIL CATCH CAN ? what is that for and is it really necessary ? I have a '06 MCSc,just got it in Nov. are the newer MINIs leaking oil or something where we may need this product?

I read something a while back on this - it seems to keep dirty oil from the supercharger from going back into the engine (I'm old and that's the best my memory can do....). You might want to search the topic and see what others have been saying. No oil leak that I've heard of!

The oil in the supercharger and engine oil are totally seperated. So it is not any benefit of the supercharger.

Oil catch can are often used to catch the oil vapor from the crank case and avoid the oil vaoor from entering the intake manifold. When connected to a PCV, it also avoids oil and dibits to jam the PCV.
