Webb Motorsports ProductTech Highlight
We have decided to highlight some of the frequently asked questions about products here in the vendor announcement forum. You'll see these from time to time, and if there is a specific product you wonder about, feel free to shoot me an email and I'll highlight it!
I am rehashing the pulley because it is one of our most popular parts. I often get the question, are there really any differences from one pulley to another? I feel we have taken the supercharger pulley to its highest evolution, and here are the reasons why:
1) We use only a 15% reduction which has been proven by our own research and outside data to be the most adiabatically efficient reduction across the entire RPM range.
2) We use a taper bore design - which is the most common method used after Webb Motorsports popularized this approach with the Alta pulley at the first Pulley Parties we organized. This allows for the installation and removal without any pressing or heating. It really is the only way to go.
3) We use stainless steel, which has a much more similar thermal expansion rate to the supercharger shaft than does, say, aluminum. It also removes corrosion between the pulley and the hub - and your pulley stays pretty!
4) Only WMS has reduced the rotational mass of the 15% pulley and the frictional belt surface.
5) Only WMS has an alignment hole which further reduces mass as well as provides a positive method to check shaft/pulley alignment.
6) WMS has also optimized the pitch of the pulley grooves to minimize belt slippage and friction.
7) WMS has implemented a positive stop on both the pulley to shaft and pulley to hub surfaces for bolt torque.
8) The WMS logo is the same upside down or right side up! The WMS logo is the fastest available
.
Here are some pics of our super-trick (I think we may be using that as our future descriptor) WMS Performance Supercharger Pulley:

Feel free to email or call with any questions at all, and remember that we loan the puller for no charge and offer an industry leading How-to! For purchasing the WMS S/C pulley, simply go here.
Look for the next product highlight soon!
Hope that helps,
