Milltek now harder to get in USA (non-S)

I ordered a Milltek exhaust for my non-S MC online from a vendor that listed he had two
in stock. He called back the next day saying his inventory wasn't up to date and it would take
about 5-6 weeks to get one, unless it was air-shipped from England for an extra $100.

I called another vendor who said he had them in stock, and they could
drop-ship the exhaust the next day, so I cancelled the first order, and placed an order
with the second vendor. Two days later I find out that he has none
available, and was told he can no longer get them from his usual source.

A third vendor told me he had them, but when I asked if he meant from
Stratmosphere's inventory (they have none at the moment), he stood
corrected.

Another vendor raised the price $100 recently and lists them as
a special order item that takes about 4 weeks to get.

I finally called Stratmosphere, the only company that actually brings the
Milltek exhausts into the US, and they gave me the correct story from the start.
They are the sole distributors for Milltek in the US, according to the Milltek-UK site.
They no longer list the non-S MC exhaust on their site, but they said
they could special order it at the same old price ($549 plus $35 shipping).
They get a freight shipment about once a month from Milltek, and can
include Milltek exhausts for the (non-S) MC on it if requested. They said
that if I ordered now, before they finalize the next shipment, it would be here
in about 4-5 weeks, so I ordered it from them.

I wish you would have called me. I have 2 sitting here on the shelf right in front of me. Glad you got one though.

Well, I didn't check you out since you don't list an MC Milltek exhaust on your site.
I'm guess I'm content enough to wait for more of the road-salt season to
pass before installing it anyway.
And I don't want to cancel a third order (I have visions of 4 exhausts arriving
at my door in a month or two due to confusion about order cancellations).

Cristo,

I am sorry for the confusion. I certainly tried to give you the most information I had - including that I warehouse them in NY. I was told last month they were still available, so that was where my inventory came from.

Stratmosphere does import them, but if you talk with Phil (who owns and runs Milltek), he will let you know that not only Webb Motorsports, but a few other have input into the product, and are directly responsible for the current market offerings.

On the S, we did the initial testing and redesign of the "Quick-fit" cat-back, the only system now sold.

We also offer our own warranty, independent of the Milltek warranty.

Hope to keep your business next time!

Randy

Randy,
You did give me good information after my order and I thank you for that.
It was kind of a coin flip whether to re-instate my order with you, or
place it with Strat. I did the latter mainly because they were easier to
get on the phone at the time, and it might get here a week or so earlier.
Next time I need something that you're selling, I'll seek you out first.

I understand - thanks for the consideration. The unit arrives at the same time, since we drop ship from Stratmosphere anyway for items we don't have in stock here. Glad you got what you are looking for in the end!

Let me know if you have any questions on the install.

Cristo,
I feel bad in that I just received Statmosphers last non s miltek on Friday. It took them a week to find the whole system in their warehouse, but they kept looking and got it to me. The vendor who made the sale was Outmotoring. (They get them from strat. I was very pleased with the way they (both) worked with me to get me the exhaust. Until they found the header connection part, I was planning to wait for a shipment from england.
It is a very nice looking exhaust. Hope it souds as nice.
Terry
