I have personally used Joe Hudson's Collision Center on Valleydale Road & was very satisfied with the results. I recommended them to my boss & he was very happy after his accident also. They have multiple locations but I can only vouch for the one on Valleydale

I have used 280 Paint & Body Shop just over Double Oak Mountain, they are very very good. Most Dealerships in b'ham that don't have thier own body shops use 280.
Thier not a full body shop as far as full paint overs, they are a collision repair center. So that means they take ther parts off the car, paint it to exact specifications so the edges match the paint on surrounding parts.
#1 in my book.

I too have a scrape on a bumper, thanks to an errant music stand. Would 280 or Joe Hudson's be a place where they could do it while I wait? (and yes, I seriously doubt it).

I'm going to have to have the bumper covered replaced the only way the say. I've ordered one from my friend at Hank Aaron can't wait to see what they'll send me. Then I'll have it painted and put on at Jim and Jim's, they say they've worked on several Mini's. This should only cost me $500.00. Keep you dog's out of the street please folks.

Roach, can you post a pic of your blemish? Personally, I can live with mine if it's going to cost "only" $500.

How much of that $500 is for the cover vs. paint and install? That's a pretty small wound for $500.

You have to replace the cover it's $200 plus shipping, then I'm guessing about $300 from painting and installation.

installation is a VERY quick job. You might consider just paying to have it painted and doing the removal and installation of the bumper skin yourself. It is just a few screws to get it on and off. It will take about 30 minutes to remove and re-install if you have never done it before. You'd probably spend more time driving to the body shop than the amount of necessary labor.
